Pristine 1963 Refurbished Martin Deluxe Committee Trumpet. You will find this to be an heirloom quality trumpet that you can cherish and enjoy playing the rest of your life. It is in phenomenal condition, both as a player and cosmetically. Earlier this year the valves were rebuilt and refitted by Charlie Melk, owner of Charlie’s Brass Works. The compression is 100 percent, which makes the playing experience exceptional. The trumpet is pristine(almost mint). The lacquer is beautiful and it looks more like a new trumpet than a vintage classic. All bell inscriptions and serial numbers are crisp and you will feel so proud to take this out of the case and showing it off. There are a couple of pings on the left side of the bell, the worse can be view in the last photo. The sound is wonderfully colorful and rich, and the blow is a joy. I want you to be happy! Included is the original Martin Mouthpiece in good condition and a nice ProTech case. If you always wanted your own early Martin Committee large bore, but you cant afford the present prices, you are in luck. As you see, this 1948 horn has the rare 3 on the valve casing, making it one of the most cherished horns in jazz. This horn plays great, sounds great. It is a raw brass horn no lacquer nickel accents The 3. Slide ring is not original but functions as it should. I bought this in February 2019, the previous owner wrote, This horn has been played in the NYC scene for many years. Its been repaired and patched through the years. All patches were done and added over the years before I got this horn. Horn appears to have been played non-stop so that is why the player was adding patches to protect the horn. These are protective by nature patches. The valves move great and the horn plays awesome. In this case the patches possibly are for sound benefit and these add to weight very slightly. If you are looking for a player this is it! This horn does have great visual mojo, and looks as if its owner must perform a lot. I took this horn in to the repair shop last week to make sure it was ready for sale. The head repairman said those protective patches all made sense and the horn was totally stable. And then he mentioned that the 1. Valve button was non-original which I hadnt noticed before while playing, but you can see that in the finger buttons close-up shot. This is a great playing example of a Martin Committee II alto saxophone #134XXX. It is considered a great vintage, manufactured in 1937 in Elkhart, Indiana USA at the absolute peak period of craftsmanship and quality with the Lion and Crown engraving.
