Buffet Crampon Super Dynaction E flat alto sax. I got it in 1963 and it was last played around 1984 by my wife’s youngest sister. It was a great sounding instrument when I was playing it helped me stay in first chair most of the time in school. Now, nearly about 35 years later, a few pads need treatment or replacement as one would expect. One or two springs may be getting a bit weak. The bottom of the bow is subtly flattened, and there may be a minor dent in one edge of the Eb key guard. Mechanically, everything else works fine. It looks OK from a distance of 5-10feet, but up close you can see that it would really benefit from refinishing: the lacquer is no longer smooth in places – common for age, the color is no longer uniform and is a bit dull, there are spots worn through the lacquer primarily on keys that don’t have touches, and there are some streaks of verdigris primarily on the front of the bow and bell. Buffet Crampon a Paris, also marked France, C – very good + condition. Brilhart Ebolin 112986, 3 – good to very good condition. 15 reeds – most never used. Brass lyre music holder marked depose France – very good to excellent. Black leather neck strap – very good. Black Buffet Crampon & Cie hardcase – very good overall with a couple of spots in the lining showing wear at the pressure points and a couple of repaired areas on the underside where the trim stitching had worn away. Please let me know if you have any questions or would like additional photos. I had a question of whether the large pads had resonators. All of the large pads have a silver colored, flat metal disc (probably stainless steel or nickel plated) that is attached by a central, slotted screw. LATE 1960s SLINGERLAND THREE-PLY BLUE SKY PEARL DRUMS. Serial numbers are 183419, 183425, 183429, & 183596. All shells and all hardware pieces are in excellent condition. Some of the COB hardware does show some sign of aging, but all are very presentable. Rack tom mount is a newer Steve Maxwell piece. You may notice the rack tom is actually mounted upside-down in the photo. That is because it positions the tom higher where I like to have it because the Maxwell mount is not as tall as most Slingerland mounts. That 13 tom can easily be put right-side up simply by turning the shell mount around and switching drum heads top-to-bottom. No modifications have been made to the shell. No missing hardware items for any of the shells, side from there are no heads for the 12 tom. The front bass drum head is new. All other drum heads are used, but still in good shape. There are three lugs on the bottom of back side of the bass drum that use a drum key and one lug that is an older Radio King (see photo). All of these lugs operate like they should. All other lugs are correct for this drum set. The 13, 16, and 20 shells have recently been re-wrapped with high quality drum wrap from Chicago Drum. I highly recommend contacting them if you ever need any drum items (like if you want wrap for the 12 shell too). The wrap is Blue Sky Pearl. It looks really good. The hoops were repainted in satin black. High quality 3M glue was used. The wrap is straight and tight. All of the seams are well placed on each shell and are snug to the shell. The interiors of all the shells are all painted with the grey paint that Slingerland used in the late 1960s. So, they need another good home. Vintage Henri Selmer Paris Largo tenor trombone serial number 8710. This instrument was manufactured in France in the late 1960s. Remarkable condition for its age. The Largo slide bore is. 547 and the bell measures 8 11/16 (220 mm). This instrument plays very well and has a bright tonal quality, somewhat unusual for a symphonic bore instrument. The bell brass is heavier than most, which accounts for its ability to project well. It is a terrific solo instrument or great for a small ensemble. The bell engraving reads: HENRI SELMER/ PARIS/ SELMER/ MADE IN FRANCE. The slide receiver barrel reads Largo and the mouthpiece receiver barrel has the Henri Selmer Paris logo with the serial number. The bell section is in very good condition with minimal signs of damage. There are some scratches and tiny dings on the bell throat and flare. Lacquer is 80+% intact, with wear at the neck tube, tuning slide crook and 1. Lacquer has flaked at the bell flair bead (see pic). There are signs of previous dent work on the tuning slide crook, but its in good shape and moves freely. The handslide has been overhauled: lacquer stripped, dings removed, tubes flex-honed, slide aligned and new felts installed. A slight crease on the slide receiver barrel does not affect handslide operation. The inner slide tubes are in excellent condition and handslide action is 8-9/10. The handslide has been Flitz polished. This gem is clean and ready to howl! Just add slide lube; comes with a custom hardshell case. Its clean and in very good condition. Ive been a player, collector and repair tech for many years, but now find that its become more of a burden than a joy to keep, restore, and maintain so many trombones. Great Playing Vintage Getzen 940 Piccolo Trumpet. Serial # BP 110. What a wonderful playing piccolo trumpet! As a long time player and collector of professional trumpets, I can testify to the high. Quality that this vintage trumpet offers. The sound has a lively rich bell like quality and the valves are classic Getzen! I can’t imagine any professional player or advancing student not really loving this trumpet. Included are three leadpipes including a Blackburn A and a nice Vincent Bach Corp. 7E mouthpiece with a 117 throat. The major cosmetic blemish is missing lacquer. There are a couple of pings and minor scaring from minor past dent removal but no large dents and as mentioned above, a stellar playing professional piccolo. Noble Paris Bass Saxophone 1960s. I have to use a bari sax reed to test it. You have to drop your jaw to get the low notes to speak. I don’t know if this is typical, or if there is a leak in the estimate. All the notes do speak though. The pads appear to be in great condition. It’s obviously had to repad. I’m assuming, based off the information that I have found on the internet, this instrument was made in Paris in the sixties. It has a 5 digit serial number that begins with 1 5. The instrument is in great shape considering how cumbersome enlarge it is. The lacquer looks great. There have been some repairs done to the instrument that I have indicated with the pictures. This is a great-playing example of a vintage Conn 16m tenor saxophone manufactured in the 1960’s, #N105XXX. His sax is in shiny, clean condition with normal wear and scratching for it’s age, and it is set up to good playing adjustment with older but still flexible pads, mostly plastic dome resonator-type, with necessary replacements.
