Pre-War French Besson Bb Trumpet Perfect Condition Made c. Besson Brevete 96 Rue D’Angouleme, Paris on Bell Bb Trumpet. Serial Number 84760 Made in Paris c. 1924 Penetrating Sweet Tone Great Condition-Valves Near Perfect. Another beautiful collectable and rare trumpet! This vintage Pre War French made F. Besson Bb trumpet was restored recently and is still in fantastic condition. Serial number 84760 places the date of manufacture c. All the features of these early Bessons, including the straight angled second valve tuning slide and the solid brass valve buttons. The condition is great with only some minor dings and a little valve plating wear. Despite this the compression is better than 95%. Some information has been offered from brass expert Josh Landress on the condition of the horn. He says it appears the bell section was replaced at a later date. There are patches, (see photos), the 2nd valve slide pull knob is a replacement, the 3rd slide ferrule is not original, brace on tuning slide is missing and the first slide has no ring. Bell measures 4 3/4 and the bore appears to be. 460 The venturi at the receiver measures. This rare vintage Besson trumpet will include a case, mouthpiece and valve oil. SELMER PARIS MARK VI MADE IN 1967. This horn is a collectors dream example of a low A and high F# key Mar k vi. Low A Mark VIs are some of the most rare Selmer Paris horns ever made. These horns were made an extremely small runs or custom order through out the year and were never any kind of mass produced horn. Selmer company made little more than 200. This saxophone has a new pad and works fine. It had wear and tear, it is clean in disinfected. I have little time with him, I have no information. Of his story but this seems to have been re-lacquer. 1983 Silver Plated Bach Stradivarius Professional Trumpet. It has an open rich medium dark rich sound that works well in many musical styles. The valves are quick, smooth and quite. All slides are free and functional with the exception of the small dump slide. Included is the original case which shows lots of wear but is structurally sound with working latches and a solid handle. Cosmetic blemishes include some missing plating, pings, a couple of small indentations, evidence of past dent removal, surface scratches and normal wear. There is a little plating missing from the valve section but they work very nicely and the horn has a full sound. Check out my other items. Be sure to add me to your favorites list. His listing is for a vintage Conn tenor saxophone. It is a New Wonder series I, also commonly known as a pre-Chu Berry model. The serial number is 88, xxx, indicating a c. It has rolled tone holes, a front F button, a G# trill key, and a forked Eb mechanism. This sax is in excellent playing condition. It was fully dis-assembled, the body was washed, the keys were wiped down, old key oil was replaced, and it was re-assembled and adjusted. A few key corks were replaced as needed, and general adjustments were made so that all pads are sealing properly with a light touch. The pads are in excellent condition. They look relatively new, and all are matching in style, with plastic button resonators. The leather is soft and supple. I would estimate they have at least 75% of their lifespan remaining. This sax plays great from top to bottom, as you can hear in the demo video linked below. See the product in action. This sax is in very good physical condition. The body is straight. The neck looks like it might have had a touch of pull down corrected in the past, but it is in fine condition now. There are a few minor dings on the bow, but no significant dents. I don’t see any re-soldered joints. There is minimal mechanical wear to the key-work, and all of the rollers are turning freely. Alas, the lacquer is not original, but nor is it a re-lacquer. This horn is actually silver plated underneath the lacquer. It probably had the lacquer applied in the 1950’s or 60’s, when silver plated instruments went out of style. The coverage of the lacquer is nearly 100%. There is just a tiny bit of silver peeking through on the tops of some posts, and the edge of the rim of the bell, but it is barely noticeable. It has a nice vintage look to it. Please note that this horn just has the Conn logo, and no decorative engraving, which is quite common for that time period. This horn does come in its original case. The case is in very good condition for its age, although it is still a vintage case, so you’ll probably want something more modern for day to day use. The original is solid, with minimal wear. It is clean and odor free inside. It even still has its original handle! There are no other accessories included, except for the original end plug. Please feel free to message me with any questions! Up for sale is a really interesting Eb sousaphone made by H. Jay in the early-mid 1900s! It does show some signs of mild dent removal, and a few solder touch ups over the years, but it still looks/plays remarkably well for its age, and has plenty of music left in it! Jay manufactured brass instruments in Chicago from 1910 to 1946, and used’Columbia’ as a trade name. Serial number is 9,5XX, making this either a very early model, or one of only a very few that were made, compared to most manufacturers at the time. Harry Jays claim to fame was what he patented as the reverse leadpipe. Basically, one of the Main tuning slide. Inner legs comes out from the body of the horn rather than both legs on the slide being inner legs. The back of the bell (which is 24 in diameter) has a beautiful floral engraving of the Make/Model. The gooseneck thats on it now appears to be just a steel or silver plated brass pipe that has been bent to shape so that it could be used without tuning bits. It seems to work well enough as is, but it definitely looks improvised/DIY. Any brass tech should be able to whip up a custom-made neck (or find an old one that fits) pretty easily if the next owner does want to replace it. All valves have been oiled and move smooth and quick! All slides have been greased and can be pulled by hand! Several solder touch ups as pictured but every joint looks rock solid! Theres plenty of patina all over the silver plating on this horn, but it looks good as is too, so the next owner can decide whether to get give it a good polish! There are a couple spots that have been polished, like around the engraving; and the guard brace on the back of the bell has been polished almost entirely to the shiny silver plate underneath all the patina. The inside of the bell is in gold laquer, and shows a fair bit of wear consistent with its age, but still looks good overall. Several minor dings, dents, and scuffs as pictured. Its also a pretty heavy horn for an Eb, with a very thick gauge brass and lots of beefy bracing/guards, that comes in at about 25 Lbs when assembled body is about 15 Lbs, the bell is about 10 Lbs. It’s certainly not a pristine horn, but all around a solid and really interesting piece of history that has been maintained pretty well.
