Selmer Paris Super Balanced Action SBA Tenor Saxophone (1950) on the nose. Exceptional Condition Exceptional Condition. Once in a lifetime opportunity! Positively John Coltrane era! Everything is Original and as close to mint as you are ever going to get. Note: Since I listed this item, I had it repadded and corked By Hammer Music’s Steve Moyer, who has worked for Mike Hammer for over 30 years. The resonators are all original. Corks, Pads, and felt has been replaced and the action has been adjusted for optimum playability. Now the horn plays better than new with professional setup is all. I kinda regret having anything done but I had every intention of playing this horn but since then, I have had a change of heart. It’s too beautiful for me to be bouncing around out there playing, so I have decided to cash it on other things that are necessary. All of the pictures were taken before the pads were replaced so you can see that everything was absolutely original down to the smallest detail. My instructor persuaded me to have the pads replaced simply because they were too dry to get the full beauty out of the horn, and because they along with everything about this horn is 72 years old. This horn have hardly any use at all, so it did not need an overhaul. (It was already tight). Only to be refreshed and oiled because of it’s age. I have the fresh receipt for the work order. It is ready for use. Rich man’s horn. Don’t need no big story for this one. The case is just as beautiful as the horn. (Afraid to use it). The old man who turned this horn in, out there in Iowa, had it since he was a lad. He played it in school and then quit. He put it in the closet and there it stayed for 70 years of it’s 72 years upon the face of the earth. My instructor and his wife said that ” it’s like having a 72 year old new horn”. Said that I should hold onto it and cash it in on my retirement. With all said and done, it will take you another 72 years to find another one in this mint condition, at this price. You may have to fly in to see this one. I have never seen one like it in all of my 42 years of collecting, and don’t believe that I ever will. We are going to keep everything on the table. Vintage Conn 6M Transitional Alto Saxophone RTH SN252891 Lacquered Brass

Conn 6M Transitional Alto Saxophone brass finish with a gold nitrocellulose original/first lacquer on offer. All keys operate properly but horn will need adjustment to play well. Pads are overall in good condition. The neck and body are in good condition with one small dent with a couple dings on the bow (see photos). This was the basic model and thus does not have the famous “naked lady” engraving, showing only the neat/concise CG Conn label (see third photo). The body/neck present a period correct nitrocellulose lacquer–the horn was likely bare brass from the factory. Please budget for cleaning/adjustment/regulation to taste. Getzen Eterna Tunable Bell Trumpet. This is identical to the horn I used as the lead trumpet with the Airmen of Note. I bought this one a few years ago. It’s an amazing horn but, I’ve learned that I don’t use as much air as I did when I was in my 20’s. I just can’t fill this large bore horn up anymore. York Pro Model 1941 Trumpet – Reconditioned – Original Case & York Al-Tru 4M MP Bore. 460 – Serial# 126. A stunning rare York with underslung 3rd slide with lock-out in matte silver with gloss trim package and mother of pearl slide tabs. Not pictured in hornucopia’s collection, similar to an earlier model 70 I had years ago. Bell tail required dent work and I soldered the rear bell brace, over all 99% plating and only minor blems and dinks. Horn plays well and everything is smooth. Original case is very nice for it’s age, the original handle is broken. Horn also comes with the original York Al-Tru 4M mouthpiece. UpYourBrass shop policies are to offer only inspected, repaired, thoroughly cleaned, detailed horns. Horn is dis-assembled and inspected, soaked in an organic de-greasing solution and scrubbed. Body, valves and components are treated in an organic chem clean with Tesch products (Tesch is recommended by NAPBIRT). Hand-lapped valves and chambers (This process can take up to an hour). Complete detail of all components, hot water scrubbed and prepped for assembly. Valves aligned, pads and springs replaced as needed. Play tested and final inspected before listing for sale. Clean your instrument regularly (especially lead-pipe and tuning slide) and have a chem-clean or ultrasonic clean done every two years.
