The Trumpet in the picture display, is for representational purposes only, it is not for sale. Making the consideration to overhaul/refinish your Trumpet, Flugelhorn, Cornet etc. Is a big one! It is a process filled with questions, concerns, apprehension emotions that surround the most important of any considerations Who do you trust? We realize that this instrument is very special to you, for lots of different reasons. Perhaps it is your personal favorite, the one filled with timeless memories? Alternatively, maybe it is simply one that you have acquired and ultimately plan to re-sell? Regardless of the reason, the level of professionalism with which you want it treated is your highest priority. You want to go forward with every bit of confidence necessary to eliminate your worries. You want a company that will give your instrument the level of care and respect that it and you, as the customer, deserve. Having said all of that, here is where the rubber meets the road the jumping off point where everything becomes less clear with every inquiry you make! There are countless companies out there competing for your business. Your choices are many and varied, some good, some okay and some that are just plain bad. Also accompanying these confusing facts are an equally huge variety of prices for these serviceswhich further complicates your decision. Does the expensive service mean a better job? Or, conversely does a lesser cost mean a mediocre job? How do you really know who is good, bad, or indifferent as concerns all of these choices? Well, the good news is that there is an answerand the simple fact is that none of the confusion above means anything relevant to the choice you are about to make. First and foremost, your decision should be one that begins by looking at the depth of a companys history. These single criteria will determine how their services relate to your needs. A business that has a long and successful history of doing this type of specialized work would not have been able to survive, let alone prosper, without doing their job very well! This is the basis of credentials and reputations commodities that are built and cultivated over the long run and earned through learning, as well as, decades of practice by the individual. Our small company, musicshop-more , has been in business for over 20 years. In that time, we have overhauled and refinished several thousands of instruments, as well as, at least ten thousand mouthpieces. Doing business with a big company only means paying for bigger overhead, more payroll and fixed costsit has absolutely nothing to do with the product quality. It is simply the reason why they are more expensive than us! Thus, being a small. Company means more care, personal attention, affordability all in all a much better job performed. Our specialty is Silver and Gold plating which is an art form in and of itself, as it must be done methodically and with great patience and expertise. So, here is what your instrument will get from us, over the course of approximately a month to six weeks. Upon its arrival, we will be photographing your instrument from a wide variety of angles, then both dating and time stamping these pictures. Following this simple step, we then. Thoroughly inspect your instrument. If it has any dent issues, damaged or rotted parts that need repairing or replacement, we will immediately contact you to discuss this, as well as, also advise you of the repair/ replacement cost of these parts as this is above normal services. Those decisions will of course be yours to make, prior to beginning any work. The next step is that the instrument will be put through its first of Three (3) Sonic cleaning baths. This is a process of intense cleaning, sanitizing, freeing stuck slides etc. Addressing literally every part of the interior of your instrument that normal cleaning cannot reach! Once that is completed we will then begin all previously agreed upon dent work and other repairs that need re-mediating to in order to make this horn look as new as possible. Following these repairs, the horn will be lightly buffed making the surface acceptance of its new finish. The instrument will now be put through its second Sonic cleaning bath. We then begin the new finish, beginning with a light cooper plating, followed by a Silver plating. After this plating process is completed, the instrument will be put through its third Sonic cleaning bath. Following all of thiswe begin the reassembling of the instrument, including the replacement of all the felts, corks, water key pads and springs. Additionally, as a bonus, we also provide in this package a new Silver re-plating of two of your mouthpieces, and a free gold wash for the inner bell, if you would like this done.
