Bach Stradivarius Trumpet Early Elkhart

Early Elkhart Bach Strad 37 star bell. Serial number 47xxx, excellent condition. It has a brand new custom Gary Radke leadpipe with a Charlie Melk mouthpiece receiver. This leadpipe was selected and installed by Charlie Melk. Sent it to Charlie Melk to select and replace the pipe. This leadpipe was preferred by Charlie after play testing several leadpipes, including an original bach 25. This horn sounds better now than it did with the original leadpipe. Valves are in great condition, compression is very good. No real dents or dings, other that a few small scratches. You can see a difference in the brightness of the lacquer on the new leadpipe. Case is in very good condition for it’s age. Comes with your choice of a Bach 5c or bach 7c mouthpiece. Pictures aren’t the best, I will be updating with better quality pics soon. Rebuilt Conn 3 Valve Short Action BBb Sousaphone

I took on the sousaphone as a fun test of my shop abilities, and had to make special tools to take out the nasty dents. There was a great deal of unfolding, serious dent work and re-alignment during the rebuild. Most of the pieces were disassembled and reworked independently. The valve block has new bracing to the body and is now much stronger than the original design. I realigned all of the slides and put the pieces back into round for smooth opperation. Horn was initially chemically cleaned and later flushed several times although there still may be some residue left from the rebuild. All failing solder joints are repaired and the braces are now in good solid condition. I heavily polished, buffed, and burnished the horn but there is still always room for a little more elbow grease. There are small dings and surface scratches remaining but all the major dents are removed and smoothed out. I worked dents from all of the connective tubing between the valves. The bell was brought back into round and is fairly smooth with a solid bell wire. Most of the original lacquer failed and is now removed. Please allow extra time for proper packing and delivering to the appropriate carrier as this will come in large box. This is a heavy, oversize instrument. A Reynolds Trombone with original case. Based on the serial number, it should have been manufactured in the late 1930’s before the war. Between 71/4 and 71/2. Looks two-tone at certain places… He tarnishing is indicative of the age of the horn and use due to the natural acidic oils in the hands. I have for sale a legendary Kanstul French Besson Brevete. 460 bore trumpet in laquer finish. All slides move freely. Valves are Kanstul fast. There is a couple of spots on the lead pipe where the laquer is gone. There are a a couple of spots of solder bleed on the bell rim. The inside of the Lead pipe is super clean. There are no dents. I have not been able to detect any areas previously repaired. Valve compression is very strong. This horn is really in beautiful condition. No case or mouthpiece. This is a 1954 Paris Selmer 24a serial number. I love this trumpet and don’t want to sell it but due to health conditions, I must. The horn is in great shape and plays well. All the slides are free. This unit also has the 1st valve trigger, which is a rare option. You can see the balanced valve block look in picture 2 comparing it to one of my Doc Eternas. The lacquer is 90-95% there and the horn looks nice when playing. There are 2 very small dings that are barely noticeable. It comes with a period case & mute both in great shape. I will also throw in a Schilke 15A4a mouthpiece. Louis Armstrong & Harry James. Played a balanced Selmer.
