Silvertone – Super Pan American Stencil 1950 – Refurbished – Case and Bach 7C MP Bore. 438 – Serial# 206. Sears contracted quite a few different manufactures to produce their Silvertone model horns, this is the first of this particular model I’ve seen built by Conn. I’ve had pros tell me these and Coprion Director models play as well or better than many pro horns. This one has 75% lacquer with a lovely bell design and of course showing scratches and signs of wear. The tuning slide was stuck, the crook is slightly compressed from prior attempts to remove and now repaired, the 1st slide also required some fit work and is a little firm. Lyre and Bach 7C mouthpiece are included. UpYourBrass shop policies are to offer only inspected, repaired, thoroughly cleaned, detailed horns. Horn is dis-assembled and inspected, soaked in an organic de-greasing solution and scrubbed. Body, valves and components are treated in an organic chem clean with Tesch products (Tesch is recommended by NAPBIRT). Hand-lapped valves and chambers (This process can take up to an hour). Complete detail of all components, hot water scrubbed and prepped for assembly. Valves aligned, pads and springs replaced as needed. Play tested and final inspected before listing for sale. Clean your instrument regularly (especially lead-pipe and tuning slide) and have a chem-clean or ultrasonic clean done every two years. Vintage cases are all disinfected, cleaned and sanitized but there may be a residual horn smell in any old case. UpYourBrass Policies (please read). Excellent used condition for 84-88 year old Trumpet. No evidence of major repairs or damage.
