VINTAGE KING ZEPHYR Bb TENOR SAXOPHONE CIRCA 1937 – 1938. EXPTIONALLY NICE Has had a Professional Re-Lacquer (some years ago). SERIAL #202135 (Neck & Body). This Art Deco King Zephyr Tenor has the Double Socket Neck that made Zephyr “The American Sax to Own” for many years. And, this Vintage Zephyr also has the 3 Ring Neck Strap Loop. Both of these innovations were so well received, that King countinued to include both on the early King Super 20 Saxophones. Check out just how nice this Vintage Zephyr presents with the Excellent relacquer it received some time ago. What is interesting is that original owner had the Neck Silver Plated when he had his Tenor relacquered. The Roller Keys on the early King Zephyrs have Art Deco Styling. Recently adjusted, I asked the Pro Player at the Shop I go to for repairs to put his mpc on this Vintage Tenor, and listened as he took it through one of his 20 minute warmups, and I enjoyed listening to his performance on this Tenor. His comments about this Zephyr after he finished playing/testing it were that it has lots of depth, and it certainly has the Vintage Sound. The Octave key lever was wrapped by the shop of the former owner to add strength to this lever. This Tenor will be protected very well with its New Case.
