This is a Bach Model 50B Bell with Shires Thayer Valves. This bell section was custom assembled for me by Chuck Ward, a renowned brass repair expert in NE Ohio. This idea behind this horn was to pair the sound of a Bach horn with valves of supreme quality. I quit playing in 2012 and this instrument has not been used since. Valves still move and function properly. Also included is a Bach slide that has some kind erosion, shown in the pictures. I had this slide looked at by Mr. Ward and he said it was a factory defect. The horn is still playable with the slide, but the erosive defects are a hindrance for proper slide technique. Feel free to contact for additional photos if desired.
