This is a Bach Stradivarius model 37 trumpet made in 1974 (serial number 108273). The bore of the horn is medium large at. The bell is 4 3/4. The engraving is crisp and clean, and reads STRADIVARIUS/ MODEL 37/ VINCENT BACH/ ELKHART, IND. The horn plays very well. The valves feel nice, have very good compression, show almost no wear and feel very mechanically sound, with no wiggle from side to side. The slides all move well, of course. As for the aesthetic condition of the horn, there are a few minuscule pings as well as areas of light scratching and pitting; the bell flare, inside and out, has some of the most noticeable scratching. There is a fair amount of silver-plate loss on the trumpet, particularly on the valve cluster. Some of the braces have been resoldered, and the solder has slightly discolored the silver plate in those areas. The leadpipe-to-bell brace near the mouthpiece receiver has been replaced. All this is visible in the pictures, and none of it affects the playability of the horn. This instrument has been professionally cleaned in our shop and repaired to full playability. This trumpet comes with a mouthpiece for play-testing purposes and a hardshell case in good condition. All horns are located at Silver & Brass Music Shop.
