This listing is for a trombone made by H. White Company at their Cleveland, Ohio factory. It is the popular, professional 2B Liberty with an older King valve section. It has the 7 3/8 and nickel outer slides on the handslide. This is a great example of this instrument in the US. 481 bore tenor instrument. It uses a standard shank mouthpiece. This professional model is used by many jazz and studio musicians. The valve section makes it more versatile and would make a great instrument for a trumpet or euphonium player. The valve section is newer then the bell and slide and had more use and wear. It is a nice add-on to the original, older 2B instrument. We acquired this trombone from a widow that her late husband owned. We Ultrasonically cleaned the instrument and did minor repair work. This trombone shows little wear. The finish is near 100% intact but we did some minor spot finish work and where some smaller dents were removed. Also, some very small, minor scratches and some small repaired dings. The handslide has silky smooth action. The valves and tuning slides work well. The valve section serial number is in the 363XXX series placing production in 1955-60. The trombone serial number is in the 192XXX serial number placing production at 1936-37. This was produced in the so-called Golden Era of hand production at the Cleveland factory. Properly maintained, this instrument will only increase in value. Included in this outfit is the original red/black coffin case showing slight wear with the leather straps still intact, a King M31 mouthpiece, rotor oil, valve oil and a cleaning cloth.
