Legends Brass Rudy Muck. Legends Brass is excited to bring back these legendary gems of the mouthpiece world. Rudy Muck mouthpieces are famous for their Cushion Rim, which was billed as “the most comfortable feature of any mouthpiece in the field”! These are brand new mouthpieces manufactured from scans of vintage Rudy Muck mouthpieces. All of the rims and cups are identical to the original vintage pieces, with Legends Brass backbores as noted below. Please note that Rudy Muck measured the inside rim diameter at the high point of the rim, while Legends Brass measures at the inner curve of the rim. This makes the original measurements much larger than ours. The Legends RM 12S is based on a vintage Rudy Mück 12S. It has an inside rim diameter of 0.635? And a shallow to medium shallow V-bowl cup. The throat is a standard #27, and the backbore is a Legends S. The rim on the 12S is considered “semi-cushion”, which is slightly less round than the “full cushion” rim, but still permits great circulation of the blood while providing a comfortable pressure area for the lips. ” This mouthpiece is a tribute to the master craftmanship of Rudy Muck, and as the brochure says, “A Rudy Mück cushion-rim mouthpiece on your own instrument will show you why’something just as good’ is unacceptable. Legends RM 12S Specs. Outside Rim Diameter: 1.18 (29.97 mm). Outside Rim Contour: Round. 635 (16.13 mm). Inside Rim Contour: Medium Sharp. Cup Depth: Similar to Bach C/D (Medium to Medium Shallow) V-Bowl. Backbore: Legends S (standard). The Legends RM 13C is based on a vintage Rudy Mück 13C. The legendary cushion rim developed by Rudy Muck was described in the marketing brochure at the time as the most comfortable feature of any mouthpiece in the field today! The Legends RM 13C has an inside rim diameter of 0.640? And a medium shallow V-bowl shaped cup. This mouthpiece is a tribute to the master craftmanship of Rudy Muck. The size of the inside rim diameter and the shape and depth of the cup make this piece good for upper register playing. And, as the brochure says, with the cushion rim, Pressure marks and the hinderance of perfect blood circulation are an impossibility. Legends RM 13C Specs. 640 (16.26 mm). Cup Depth: Similar to Bach D (Medium Shallow) Bowl. The Legends RM 16S was inpired by a vintage Rudy Muck Cushion Rim 16S. The original brochure from 1937 describes the legendary cushion rim as “the most comfortable feature of any mouthpiece in the field today”. It helps relieve pressure, prevents hinderance of blood circulation in the lips, and keeps the lips from slipping, even when wet. Over 75 years later, this is still one of the most comfortable rims available. Along with the cushion rim, the Legends RM 16S has a bowl shaped cup and the Legends enhanced throat. It has been fitted with our tightest backbore, the Manhattan, which has great focus and nice resistance. This backbore is specifically geared for extended performances and all night gigs, with the bright projection needed for Mariachi and other upper register, technical playing. Legends Brass MF HG. As legend has it, there was once a trumpet mouthpiece, hand crafted by the gifted artisan Dominick Calicchio, to be used by the legendary Maynard Ferguson. It was created in 1955, and used by Mr. Ferguson for recording and performing during his rise to fame until the early 1960’s. This mouthpiece has come to be known in trumpet circles as’The Holy Grail’. Dominick Calicchio created his mouthpieces by hand, each one a work of art. Legends Brass is pleased to offer to our customers our modern version of this legendary mouthpiece. The rim and cup on the MF HG are identical to the original. The rim is flattened on top, but very rounded on the inside with little or no bite. The cup is generally described as a shallow v-shaped bowl (or slightly concave V cup). The throat on the MF HG is a #28, which is a little tighter than the original. In addition, the Legends Manhattan backbore has been incorporated. The Manhattan has great focus and nice resistance, and is specifically geared for extended performances and all night gigs. These design elements work together to enhance endurance, range and sound for the modern player. This mouthpiece is well suited for extended comfort and control in the upper register. 1.053 (26.75 mm). 0.623 (15.82 mm). Slightly Concave V (or V-bowl). Similar to Bach E/F. This mouthpiece is kept in stock in four blanks: vintage, lightweight, standard weight, and heavyweight. Blank is inspired by classic Jet-Tone mouthpieces played by famous trumpet players of a bygone era. It has a beautiful art deco look. There isn’t a lot of excess mass with this blank, which makes it versatile enough for general playing but with plenty of zing for those solo and lead parts! The lightweight blank adds extra sizzle for more of a lead, or’Las Vegas’ sound. The heavyweight blank is extremely efficient; the added mass creates enriched slotting and core of sound. This mouthpiece is based on a vintage Holton MF6, which was designed for Maynard Ferguson in the early 1970’s. He used the MF6 with the Holton ST301 trumpet, around the time he was recording M. Horn 4&5: Live at Jimmy’s” and “Chameleon. The inside diameter is very small, about. The inside rim is round, as is standard on mouthpieces Maynard played, but it does have bite. Legends Brass JT RS. 624 OR JT RS. The JT RS was inspired by the Jet-Tone model RS2, designed for and played by the legendary Roy Stevens. Stevens played with some legendary greats such as Tommy Dorsey, Bunny Berigan, and Benny Goodman. Later he headed his own big band, which won the Downbeat Band of the Year Award in 1950. Stevens is also credited with developing the Stevens-Costello embouchure system (with his trumpet instructor William Costello), which is still popular today. Beautiful art deco look. There isn’t a lot of excess mass, which makes it versatile enough for general playing but with plenty of zing for those solo and lead parts! The rim is round and soft, with some undercut for chop room. The cup is a shallow V bowl, identical to the original Jet-Tone RS. The rounded entrance to the throat allows great air flow for a nice big sound even in the upper register. Slotting is excellent with the JT RS. Legends Brass has updated the original with our enhanced throat (#27), throat cylinder length, and the Legends Vegas backbore. These modifications enhance endurance, range and sound for the player. Legends Brass Pellegrini PHILHARMONIC. Legends Brass is proud to present the Pellegrini Philharmonic. This mouthpiece is an honorary tribute to legendary trumpet virtuoso Mr. Esotto Pellegrini of Youngstown, Ohio. This mouthpiece was designed by David Perrico, student and protege of Mr. The estate of Mr. Pellegrini loaned his personal piece to Mr. Perrico, and we have replicated its exact specifications as precisely as possible, with the exception of the outer blank. It has a traditional Bach-style rim, a cup based on a New York 3, and the throat is a #24. The backbore is based on a Bach Symphonic backbore 24, which is described as dark and open. It was created in the beautiful’Las Vegas Showroom’ blank. True to the spirit of Mr. Pellegrini’s approach to music, this mouthpiece is suitable for any style of playing in any genre. More about the legendary trumpet virtuoso Mr. Pellegrini held the position of principal trumpet with the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra for 47 years. He was Professor Emeritus at Youngstown State University Dana School of Music, and was a founding member of the W. Packard Band of Warren. He was a legendary figure in the Youngstown area, known not only for his association with the YSO and the W. Packard Band, but also for his performances with musical groups of all genres in the area: traveling circus and dance groups, brass quintets, and musical theater to name a few. He was known for his extreme versatility of style and genre, a trait he worked to pass on to his students. The Screamer has a soft round rim which is very comfortable. The width of the rim helps offset lip swelling, and there is some undercut for chop room. The small inside rim diameter. 590 is paired with an extremely shallow V bowl cup (similar to Bach F in depth). The entrance to the throat. Is rounded and very receptive to good air flow for a nice big sound. Slotting is excellent with the Screamer. Customers that have played this model have described it as being similar to some of the smaller Warburton pieces like Shoop and Odneal. The Screamer is not a copy of either of these, but has a similar rim and cup. It has the Legends enhanced throat (#27), throat cylinder length, and Legends S backbore. The design elements of this piece focus on accentuating upper register playing while improving endurance and sound for the player. As the name indicates, this piece is perfect for screaming lead!
