The trumpet is in good to very good playable condition. This trumpet was expertly serviced after I acquired it. There are no significant dents, but there may be a few minor dings if you look closely. The finish appears to be nickel plate and mostly present. Some of the finish has been touched up with nickel plating on wear points. The outside of the bell has a very beautiful engraving and the inside is gold wash (a bit faded). All the valves and slides work smoothly. One of the rotary valve stops, originally cork, has been replaced with a rubber stop. The compression seems to be fine. I make no claims about the valve alignment, but it seems to play fine for me. This trumpet has a very easy high register. The lower register will benefit from a moderate to large cup mouthpiece like a Bach 1C (in my opinion). Please note, this trumpet has a mouthpiece receiver that is not a modern standard. The mouthpiece receiver opening is 0.41 inches, close to a flugelhorn size. However, flugelhorn mouthpieces in general may have too deep a cup for this trumpet. Be aware that there are several flugelhorn and cornet shank “standards”. The Bach style (small morse taper) flugelhorn and cornet mouthpieces seem to work best with this trumpet. Included is a European style hard case with working latches and a key to lock it.

This was my first Tenor saxophone which I acquired around 1999. It’s been through multiple High School bands and Marching Band in college. There are some scratches and dents. The bell has a dent in it too which doesn’t affect the sound. I’ve had extensive repairs done to the instrument in the past. All of them done at L and L music in Gaithersburg, MD. All pads are intact. It is in good playing condition. This is still a great first sax for someone. It is not the best Jazz sax, but it is great to learn how to play on. Swab and Pad Guard. Case (hard or soft). Comes with a normal hard case or a soft case. The soft case is missing some zipper handles but still functions. As you probably already know if you are reading this, Keilwerth is one of the “Big 4″ when looking for quality musical instruments. This particular instrument is in amazing condition. It plays well in all registers but has not been professionally tuned since late 2017. There are no evident blemishes or dents on the saxophone. All key action is crisp and, as pictured, the pads are in great shape. The carrying case itself IS scuffed up and scratched but in solid shape. 1963 Keilwerth “The New King” Tenor. Model: The New King. Finish: Original, nickel & gold. Serial Number: 47,797. So you know I wanted to keep this older cousin! Here is a very early example of black nickel plating! Wow – it is the oldest serial number of such finish that I’ve got my hands on and I really want to keep this one. It has rolled tone holes, the “JK” tube stamp, solid sheet guards, and the early era pearls (normal sized, not the huge JK ones we know know). Serial number #47k matches on the neck and body. No high F# on this model, but that’s what front F is for! Don’t let that freak you out. I just made a. On this sax that I’ll post too. There are a few small dings and pings but not much. There was some wear on the Eb guard that was hard to see in the photo; you can see some of the under silver plating (Actually I think it was a form of nickel, info on that is unconfirmed). A little black wear on the rear body tube with brass underneath. TONE: Keilwerth tone: warmer, rounder, more spread, full of harmonics. PADS: It arrived with the current pad set up as tan pads with plastic domed resos and those have been updated from the metal resos that would have been original.
