King Trumpet Cleaning Guide. For your consideration is a Benge 90B Silver Plated trumpet with hard case included. This horn is believed to be part of the U. I (United Musical Instruments) era of Benge which began in 1985 when CG Conn and King were absorbed by a Swedish conglomerate and resulted in UMI’s formation with these brands. The serial number system used by King was still applicable early on for the UMI trumpets and therefore with the prefix of “5”, this would make the horn’s production year 2005 (Serial #: 5 619397). The 90B was a hand crafted, hand fitted, and hand adjusted horn from mouthpiece to bell and was skillfully crafted to ensure accuracy throughout the instrument. In forums, it’s often referred to as a “Bach Strad Clone” and is classified as a darker and heavier sounding horn than others. Beautiful bell engraving shows a nice logo front as well as internal diamond pattern designs as well. Paired with a comfortable feel and great sound, this would make a great upgrade from a student line instrument! This horn was found in very good condition with only a little bit of clean up/silver polish required and a few small instances of dings in the bell section. Our pictures may not reflect this as the dings were quite difficult to capture in photo due to their location. The horn has been cleaned and is in working condition. I do not play personally so I can not say to what extent the performance is, but I can get it to make trumpet sounds. Thanks for your consideration!

All the Benge 1X trumpets were medium bore. I’m not certain of the bore size on this one. Some Benge flugelhorns get a bad rap – especially the ones with the #5 bell. That model has been referred to as “the holy grail “of flugels. This Benge 1-FL has a very similar sound and feel. It has a very compact sound, with even intonation throughout the horn. It’s been refinished in a antiqued style with bright polished accents and inner bell. A 3rd slide trigger has also been installed.

This Benge 3X+ MLP bore trumpet, finished in silver, is in excellent condition and comes with its original Benge case. All valves and slides operate smoothly, and the horn has excellent compression. There are a few minor bubbles in the silver finish on the underside of the leadpipe, visible in the photos. These do not affect the playability of the trumpet. Benge 50th Anniversary Trumpet. This is the 50th anniversary limited edition of the Benge. Only 500 pieces were manufactured. With a gold-plated inner bell, this model has a light blowing feel typical of Benge, but with a rich resonance and brilliant expression. It is decorated with gorgeous engravings and is very desirable to own. Custom Built by E. Although the age of this model is at the level of being classified as vintage, it does not appear to have deteriorated as much as its age. There are no signs of use. The piston and slide are in good condition and run smoothly. I don’t think there are any noticeable dents. I have the impression that it sounds well from top to bottom.
