This is a great playing vintage example of a Yamaha YBS 61 baritone saxophone #25XX with low A manufactured in Japan in the 1970’s. Pads are somewhat older than midlife but still flexible and t. His sax is set up to good playing adjustment. Plenty of wear, small dents and scratching on it’s vintage laquer finish as can be seen in the photos. This sax blows easily with solid edge and vintage character. Last photo shows resoldered bell-to-body brace, which is a solid repair. Pads are around midlife, some older, still flexible with the original snaps and t. His sax is set up to good playing adjustment. There are scattered shallow dents throughout the sax, please study the photos carefully. Range is low Bb to high F. This sax blows very easily and freely with a warm vintage edge and solid presence. This is a rare fine-playing example of a Selmer Mark VI baritone saxophone #94XXX manufactured in Paris, France in 1961 with it’s original worn laquer finish. Pads are around midlife, some older, mostly plastic dome resonator-type, still flexible with life left and t. His sax is set up to good playing adjustment. There are scattered shallow dents throughout the sax, please study the photos carefully. Repaired 1-inch hairline crack on the seam on the top bow as seen in photo #7, works perfectly. No effect on the great sound. Range is low Bb to high F. This sax blows very easily and freely with a solid characteristic vintage edge, focus and presence. The D# guard and posts appear to be Selmer replacements, the work is solid and the guard functions perfectly.
