This is a Vincent Bach Soloist trumpet that appears to be intact, except for a missing bottom valve cap, and fully operational. The valves are intact and move smoothly. For your consideration is a vintage 1950’s Vincent Bach Mercedes model Mt. Vernon brass trumpet with a hard shell case included. According to information available on bachbrass. Com, this trumpet would land somewhere between 1955 to 1960 for production based on the serial number (14750). This also puts it in the correct era for production in Mt. Vernon, NY as they moved from NYC in 1953. This trumpet is in mostly good cosmetic condition with only a couple areas showing wear (see photos) and a possible re-lacquer occurring at some point in it’s past. Along with this, the valves are not properly leveled out and would need reset. A simple Selmer hard shell plastic trumpet case is included with this trumpet and is in functional shape but does have small cosmetic afflictions. For example, the inner felt and mouthpiece slot section are worn out. That being said, the trumpet, mouthpiece, and accessories are still secured when closed. Exterior plastic sections are good with no punctures or breaks, but are scuffed and metal sections are rusted slightly. Take advantage in owning a great vintage trumpet project at a lowered price! This listing is for a 1973 Selmer Signet Special Bb trumpet that is in EXCELLENT CONDITION other than for some areas of slight plating wear (typical of used trumpets) and insignificant tiny scratches and dings which are merely aesthetic and only noticeable when looking very closely (see photos). This trumpet looks and sounds AMAZING! It was designed by Vincent Bach, who designed the most popular professional orchestral trumpets of all time. The trumpet finish is a beautiful dark nickel that looks really cool (see photos). Nickel plating is absolutely the best way to go, especially with a student trumpet, as it is very durable (more so than soft lacquer), doesn’t tarnish (unlike silver plating), and it is pretty much maintenance free (just wipe it off with a soft cloth and you’re good to go)! This student trumpet is perfect for students of all ages. With back-to-school underway, this is your opportunity to get a great student trumpet at a great price! Proper care and maintenance include applying valve oil and slide grease on a regular basis. I recommend using valve oil before every use for optimal performance and longevity. I personally tested and cleaned this instrument. I hereby certify that it is fully functional with exceptional performability. Believed to be a 1983 model. Exterior has some wear and could use a good polish or re plating of silver, but no bare spots. All moving parts work as they should.
