Very Rare 1969 M Series Conn 73 Professional Bass Trombone
This trombone has been in my family for a long time. I’m looking to sell it since I rarely (if ever) play a bass trombone anymore. It has a spring at first position to ensure fast action when moving the slide as well as threaded rotor valves to have seamless and silent movement. This trombone was made in 1969 which is known by collectors as one of the best years for the Conn instrument manufacturing. The indication for this is the M one the serial number of the bass trombone. The 73H is similar to the 62H: it is a bass trombone, dual rotor. The difference with the 62H is that the 73H has a regular brass bell as opposed to the 62H’s red brass bell, and the 73H has the main tuning slide in the bell, whereas the 62H’s main tuning slide is in the slide. The 73H has the same #5 (0.562) bore as the 62H. Like the 62H, it was produced from at least 1968 to 1972, and was probably discontinued sometime between 1973 and 1980. In a 1969 ad featuring the 60H, 62H, 71H and 73H, Conn says: We have just created the 4 finest bass trombones in the world… What Conn said in the 1970’s. Has special double rotors to F and E. The double rotor bass trombone with second rotor E tuning eliminates the need to pull the F slide to play low B, and maintains the advantage of have C and F in 1st position. The instrument not only has all the advantages of single rotor bass trombones pitched in Bb and F, but also by using the overtone series of the E valve, the player has three horns in one: Bb, F and E. The double rotor bass trombone with Bb open horn, first rotor F tuning and second rotor D tuning is the most practical combination for all types of playing the bass trombonist is likely to encounter, and simplifies the most intricate passages. To play a chromatic scale, the player need not go past the 5th position. Lustre-Conn finish over polished brass with nickel trim. Cylindrical bore 0.562. This Trombone is a great option for anyone looking for a career level bass trombone! Note: Mouthpiece not included. The item “Very Rare 1969 M Series Conn 73 Professional Bass Trombone” is in sale since Sunday, April 28, 2019. This item is in the category “Musical Instruments & Gear\Brass\Trombones”. The seller is “erst72″ and is located in Nampa, Idaho. This item can be shipped to United States.

F. A Reynolds Tenor Silver Trombone 1930's with Case, RARE No Reserve. 99c
A Reynolds Trombone with original case. Based on the serial number, it should have been manufactured in the late 1930’s before the war. Between 71/4 and 71/2. Looks two-tone at certain places… He tarnishing is indicative of the age of the horn and use due to the natural acidic oils in the hands. Based again on what I have read, it should have one but not confirmed. Listing comes as pictured. If you do not see something in our photos then it is not included and you will not receive it. The auctions contain only what is described. Do not assume anything, sometimes Ebays product catalog does not have the correct photo and the item we have for sale may look different. Used products are not guaranteed to come with everything that was originally included. All sales are final. Vintage Bach Stradivarius Trumpet Rare Model 25 Bell Large Bore
For sale is a Bach Stradivarius B-Flat Trumpet, serial # is 96xxx, which means it was built in Elkhart, IN sometime between 1970 and 1974, before the death of Vincent Bach. This particular trumpet was professionally fully restored by B. The instrument is in perfect playing condition and is among the best horns I have ever played. All valves and slides work beautifully. If you go to the B. Website you can read about their full restoration process which includes complete disassembly and reassembly to make sure everything is in perfect alignment. There is one small dent in the bell section near the first valve that I tried get a good picture of. The horn has a raw brass (un-lacquered) finish and a Model 25 Bell. The L by the serial number denotes “Large Bore”. Horns of this era were built with heavier gauge metal than some later models so the horn has great weight to it, is sturdy, and creates a big sound. Valves are nickel plated brass and have brass valve-guides which is a great feature. View this video to see a description of this model of horn and hear how it plays. The horn comes with the Protec gig case seen in the pictures. The case is in the chocolate color, the only color that comes with the red interior. The case has a shoulder strap and is in excellent condition. This horn is ready for gigs! The item “Vintage Bach Stradivarius Trumpet Rare Model 25 Bell Large Bore” is in sale since Saturday, November 24, 2018. This item is in the category “Musical Instruments & Gear\Brass\Trumpets”. The seller is “raidersader” and is located in South Padre Island, Texas. This item can be shipped to United States.

Rare Gold plate 1930 Conn 80A Cornet with Extensive Engraving Al HIrt
This is a very cool rare find. My customer’s father was a senator here in Louisiana, and according to her was gifted this Conn 80a from Al Hirt. The Cornet has extensive and ornate engraving on the bell all the way up to the bell crook with the Capital building featured in the middle of the bell. The cornet is finished in gold plate and is in excellent original condition. The opera glass slide and the first and 3rd valve tuning mechanism both work very well. Valve look incredible considering the age of the horn. While I have no reason to doubt the history of the horn is true, there is no documentation that it was owned by Al Hirt. It has been cleaned and serviced in our shop and is ready for a new owner! A great piece of New Orleans music history! The item “Rare Gold plate 1930 Conn 80A Cornet with Extensive Engraving Al HIrt” is in sale since Friday, October 26, 2018. This item is in the category “Musical Instruments & Gear\Brass\Cornets”. EXTREMELY RARE – BEAUTIFUL CONDITION! – IN ORIGINAL CONN CASE. Conn 78h “Medium Bore Symphony” Concert Tenor Trombone – 8 1/2 Bell – Yellow Brass – Serial #299xxx. No dents on slide or inner section. A couple of pea size dents were recently tapped out on outer bell. Original lacquer, with minimal lacquer wear on left bell rim and left upper part of body tubing above bell. The slide has lubrication on it and moves freely. Recently cleaned, lubed, and dried and fast slide action. Slight plating wear on inner slide ends that does not affect slide action at this time. New water cork key replaced two months ago and complete check over of horn. This was manufactured in 1934 in Elkhart, Indiana. (See serial # above). Comes with original Conn case!! Complete with old black electrical tape owner used over the years to cover scuffs and wear and tear on case edges. All the case hinges work perfectly! Owner took great care of his horns. I have pics of owner playing on this with jazz and big band gigs as well in his younger days before purchasing his King 2B horn that he used with Kenton’s band. Well cared for by not only a pro, but highly respected brass teacher, and Conn brass lover! Professionally owned and played by one owner. Owner was a Los Angeles professional trombonist, who used this for all his symphony and orchestral film session gigs, with the Roger Wagner Chorale, L. Philharmonic, Pasadena Symphony, L. Symphonic Concert Band, L. City Urban Band, Glendale Symphony, hundreds of Universal & MGM film sessions, as well as Capital Records scoring sessions. Until he bought his jazz bones, he used this in earlier big band and jazz dates back in late 40s, in which I have pics featuring legendary jazz artists performing with him. In addition to owner’s symphonic playing, he was also a well respected jazz bonist with Stan Kenton, Harry James, Les Elgart, Charlie Barnett, Tommy Dorsey, Jimmy Dorsey, Gus Bivona, Guy Lombardo, Bill Holman, Bill Tole Big Band, Bill Berry Big Band, Frankie Capp/Nat Pierce Juggernaut Big Band, and loads of other big bands and jazz singers, such as Carmen McRae, Lena Horne, June Christy, and some Frank Sinatra sessions. I will be happy to provide private references by some of the cream of the crop bone players whom I work with. To vouch for this bone and owner’s meticulous care. This trombone came from the original line of Conn 78H’s, released by the Elkhart plant in the late 20’s, and is considered the most rare and one of the greatest Conn symphony models ever made. There are not even a hand full of pre -1940 78H bones circulating, so this horn is extremely rare! The famed former principal trombonist of the New York Philharmonic, Gordon Pulis, loved this horn model so much, that the entire bone section for years to come, all played on a Conn 78H. Get a piece of history of the best of the best of Conn, USA, Elkhart, Indiana’s most highly sought after MEDIUM BORE SYMPHONY horn! Couesnon Euphonium, Bach trumpet, and more bones posting soon, also from same owner. Please see all pics. & International Buyers welcome! All items professionally packed with care and waterproofed with supportive materials. I respond quickly to answer questions. I will be loading about 40 items daily for the estate sale auctions, including vintage jewelry, rare antique books, cars, Native American heirlooms, model scale trains, World War II items, musical instruments, records (LP’s vinyl), and more.
