Vintage 1935 Conn Transitional 6M Naked Lady Alto Saxophone Rolled Tone Holes
Vintage 1935 Conn Transitional 6M Naked Lady Alto Saxophone Rolled Tone Holes. On offer today – A Conn 6M Naked lady transitional alto saxophone with original case. The serial number is 270xxx which dates it to 1935. This is one of the wonderful transitionals out there. The official M Naked Lady models were advertised to the public in 1935, the previous model being the New Wonder Two (known for its distinct G# nail file lever). This horn is one of the rare ones caught on the production line between these two phases and shows the combined trait/s of both models. It has all the 6M attributes (same-sided bell keys, the curved high E palm key, the silver-plated adjustable thumb hook, the removal of the forked Eb resonance key, the improved G# cluster, the underslung microtuner neck, and, most importantly, the Naked Lady engraving) but retains the New Wonder Two the serial number stamp layout. This horn does not have the 6M stamp in the serial number, very unusual given the year it was made. This alto has been well looked after and is in good condition. The lacquer looks lovely with that deep golden tint it has acquired with age. All the original pearl pinky rollers are there without any chips to them. It has all of its original Conn pivot lock-screws (quite a rarity in itself) along with its original hard case. This alto saxophone has a served me well what a powerful player! It has had new pads installed but will need servicing/regulating after transit to be in playing condition so please bear this in mind. The case is good and strong as ever with no splits in the wood and the all latches functioning. Berkeley cases, mouthpieces, and many vintage U. A altos, tenors, and baritones. Will be securely wrapped for posting. The item “Vintage 1935 Conn Transitional 6M Naked Lady Alto Saxophone Rolled Tone Holes” is in sale since Monday, September 23, 2019. This item is in the category “Musical Instruments\Wind & Woodwind\Band & Orchestral\Saxophones”. The seller is “mymoonlightsonata” and is located in Aberdeenshire. This item can be shipped worldwide.

Conn 10M Naked Lady 1952 Tenor Saxophone Vintage Case GREAT SAX GREAT DEAL
1952 Conn 10M “Naked Lady” Tenor Saxophone – with vintage Conn case. The Conn 10M is known as one of the most legendary models ever produced in the saxophone world. These tenors are famous for their big, loud American tone. They play quite differently from Selmer tenors, these Conn 10M’s have a huge presence and their sound really fills a space. The tone is big but also focused with lots of beautiful subtones. This particular Conn 10M example was manufactured in 1952 and is one of the last true 10M’s produced at the factory in Elkhart, Indiana, USA. The body of the sax appears to be nice and straight and in very good shape. I see several small dings, scratches, and lacquer loss in various areas of the sax, but nothing major. This sax has survived remarkably well for its age. The pads are a bit older but are still in good shape. Neck looks very nice, with no pull down and a nice vintage patina. This sax has spent the last 20+ years in storage, thus I would recommend that the new owner gets the saxophone fully adjusted and serviced prior to active playing. This sax appears to have its original Conn case with the Conn label still attached to the inside case cover. Please remember this is a vintage saxophone, so wear and tear during a lifetime of playing is to be expected. These vintage Conn 10M tenors are very hard to find in good shape. The full-bodied tone of these Conn tenors is unmistakable, the new owner will have a very special sax! For those of you who may not be familiar, Frank is a true heavy hitter in the jazz world and has been featured on multiple Grammy winning albums. He is also the quintessential gear hound, having amassed a collection of over 500 mouthpieces! He now endorses and plays Jody Jazz mouthpieces exclusively so he is purging some of his massive collection of mouthpieces he has acquired over many years, as well as other random gear. Be sure to check out my other items for more great items from this collection. There will be more to come later, so add me to your favorites list and check back later to see new additions. His listing is for a vintage Conn 12M’Naked Lady baritone saxophone. The serial number 566, xxx indicates a c. It does currently play top to bottom, but it would require some work to be in tip top playing condition. The pads are in pretty good condition overall. There are definitely some that are on their last legs, but many others look almost brand new. I haven’t checked it for leaks. I’m sure there are some, but overall it feels like things are sealing up pretty good. There are definitely issues with the body and neck though, most of which are primarily cosmetic, but some of which should be fixed if you want to play it. The body looks to have a forward’banana’ bend, which is quite common. Since it is not causing keys to bind, that is something that doesn’t necessarily need to be fixed. The neck has some pull down, and small pings. The neck receiver has some stress cracks, which may be causing leaks. I would advise replacing it. The body has LOTS of little dings and pings. It kind of looks like it got hit with a shot gun blast! This is pretty much purely cosmetic. Same goes for a flattened spot on the bottom of the bow, and the lip of the bell, which is bent down slightly. There are also some pushed in key guard feet, and re-soldered joints. Lastly, it is missing all of its rollers and roller screws, so you will want to replace those. They were pilfered for another project because they were original Conn mother of pearl rollers. You could replace them with standard plastic ones to save on costs though. This horn comes in its original case. The case is in rather poor condition. A lot of the exterior covering has come off. It has a makeshift replacement handle. There is no mouthpiece, nor any other accessories included with this sax. This would be a good horn for someone who wants a vintage Conn, but doesn’t have the budget right now for a primo example. Please feel free to message me with any questions! Thanks again for looking! The rarest of the rare, the best of the best.. Conn 26M Connqueror aka… Artist model, Naked Lady, lady face, etc. The Conn 26M has always been regarded as one of the very best saxophones ever made. The Conn 6M (aka standard) saxophone is clearly known to be one of the favorite alto saxophones of all time. In fact, some players prefer the Conn 6M to any other saxophone to date.. Conn (Charles Gerard Conn & Company) took the deluxe and very rare 26M “Connqueror” series several steps further than the base 6M model… With much improved ergonomics (check out the placement of the left hand pinky table relative to the upper stack keys), larger/oversized pinky table, improved & faster mechanism, silver-inlaid key touches on every key that doesn’t have a pearl (and the right thumb hook), individual adjustments for each key to allow for set & forget long-term adjustment via the Conn perm-adjust system. Want a better Conn 6M VIII? This 26M is it! Original Conn key pearls and rollers. Amazing near-mint condition for its nearly 85 years of age, and the unmistakable Conn pinky table keys are in good alignment. It has some very very minor lacquer pitting and minor dings/scratches – common for this vintage. One key guard foot was resoldered on the back of the bow. Even though the finish may not be original (I only say this because it appears to have a slight orange-peel texture to me – perhaps I’m wrong however) it may be the factory finish or factory refinish – regardless the engraving is sharp & absolutely perfect, and this 26M saxophone is surprisingly complete and unmodified. It has the original Conn 26M micro-tuner double socket neck; no sign of any pull down; some very minor dings (see photos); the 6M/26M sax have a completely unique & sleek neck design with the very different under-slung octave lever. This neck is stamped: “STD’D M” meaning it is a limited-edition special neck (similar to the “VIII” neck). Rolled tone holes (RTH) – a unique feature and they are much easier on the key pads. The pads have Conn appropriate metal resonators. Metal resonated leather pads – I believe these are Conn reso-pads… The right stuff for this iconic sax. All keys operate, move freely, and quickly – just as they should on a Connqueror. With a play test – it is in need of an adjustment – however you can tell that this 26M Connqueror alto has some serious power and wants to unleash it! Even for a Conn 26M Connqueror this one has some rare features.. The STD’D M stamped neck. It has the very desirable pivoting right hand thumb rest! It is engraved with the word CONNQUEROR prominently on the bell! I believe all of these features were only available the first year or so of the 26M. Yet I’ve seen several that don’t have all three of these features – so… This is rarer and an extra desirable combination. This legendary professional saxophone is a rare find – particularly in this pristine condition. First come, first served… Don’t miss this super rare, near-mint Conn 26M CONNqueror Naked Lady.
