York Feathertouch Trumpet Master Model 1952 – Case, Docs, Giardenelli MP Bore. 462 – Serial# 172. This is a very nice Feathertouch with 90% lacquer. Clean bell flair, taper and tail have had work done. Valves are in excellent condition, #1 is a little slow after hand-lapping, this horn had sat unused for some time and the chambers were dirty. Original Case is in good condition, latch springs are broken, but case latches well. Horn comes with lyre, but no lyre mount and original feathertouch pamphlet and York maintenance guide, also included is a vintage Giardinelli 7M mouthpiece which fit the receiver very well. Body is scratched and scuffed, rim in good condition. UpYourBrass shop policies are to offer only inspected, repaired, thoroughly cleaned, detailed horns. Horn is dis-assembled and inspected, soaked in an organic de-greasing solution and scrubbed. Body, valves and components are treated in an organic chem clean with Tesch products (Tesch was recommended to all participants at a NAPBIRT clinic by Wayne Tanabe). Hand-lapped valves and chambers (This process can take up to an hour). Complete detail of all components, hot water scrubbed and prepped for assembly. Valves aligned, pads and springs replaced as needed. Play tested and final inspected before listing for sale. Clean your instrument regularly (especially lead-pipe and tuning slide) and have a chem-clean or ultrasonic clean done every two years. Legends Brass CAT MASTER. The Cat Master is based on a scan of a vintage mouthpiece played by the legendary Cat Anderson. The rim and cup are identical to the original, which was created by mouthpiece craftsman Charlie Allen. The inside rim diameter is. 585, with the high point on the inner side and sloping outward. The cup is an extra shallow (similar to Bach F) bowl. The throat is a tight #30 with a sharp shoulder going into the backbore. The backbore is the Legends Manhattan, which is very focused. If you’re looking for that authentic Cat Anderson sound, you’re going to need this mouthpiece! 1.16 (29.34 mm). 0.585 (14.86 mm). Inside Rim Contour: Medium. Cup Depth: Extra Shallow (Similar to Bach F) Bowl. Backbore: Legends Manhattan (very focused sound). This mouthpiece is kept in stock in four blanks: vintage, lightweight, standard weight, and heavyweight. Blank is inspired by classic Jet-Tone mouthpieces played by famous trumpet players of a bygone era. It has a beautiful art deco look. There isn’t a lot of excess mass with this blank, which makes it versatile enough for general playing but with plenty of zing for those solo and lead parts! The lightweight blank adds extra sizzle for more of a lead, or’Las Vegas’ sound. The heavyweight blank is extremely efficient; the added mass creates enriched slotting and core of sound. Legends Brass JT – MF MASTER. This mouthpiece is based on a piece actually played by the legendary Maynard Ferguson. I received the original piece from Alan Wise, who played with Maynard Ferguson for many years (the original is shown in the photos). The rim just gradually melts into the cup, making it incredibly comfortable. The cup is medium shallow (similar to a Bach E/D). It is a convex V shape from rim to throat. The throat is very open (#19). This yields maximum air flow for a nice big sound. The MF Master is. Kept in stock in the Legends JT blank and the Legends Vintage blank. Both blanks have a cool throw-back look combined with just the right amount of mass to enhance sound. Although this mouthpiece design is inspired by a piece played by the legendary Maynard Ferguson. This is not an exact copy. This piece has the enhanced Legends throat cylinder length, and the Legends S backbore. This piece can be used for legit or lead playing. JT MF MASTER Specs. Outside Rim Diameter: 1.060 (26.924 mm). Outside Rim Contour: Round. 590 (14.986 mm). Inside Rim Contour: Round. Comparable to Bach E/D. For a similar mouthpiece with wider inside diameter. This mouthpiece is kept in stock in two blanks: JT and Vintage. The JT blank has a smooth old-school look inspired by classic JT mouthpieces. It’s is a perfect mix of weight: just enough mass to enhance slotting with a big core, but not so much mass that the sound won’t sizzle! The Vintage blank is also inspired by classic JT mouthpieces played by famous trumpet players of a bygone era. It has a beautiful art deco look. There isn’t a lot of excess mass with this blank, which makes it versatile enough for general playing but with plenty of zing for those solo and lead parts! Karl Ziess BBb Master Modelle Silver 4 Valve Bell Up Rotary Tuba Ser#12194 Needs Repair. This tuba is built very similarly to the iconic Mirafones! This is a professional model tuba in need of some repair. It has some good crunches along the bottom bow and the outside body bow (see pics). The bell has had several patches for repair put in and there are two metal patches on the lead pipe. Even in its non playing needing repair type condition this tuba is still a great tuba! Instrument Condition: The overall physical condition of this used instrument is. Several dents and dings. This instrument is currently in. It has approximately 80-85% of the silver finish. Heavy general wear substantial surface scratches and wear with medium-large dents and dings and/or. One or more of the valves are not functioning properly and some of the tuning slides are stuck. Valve Info: The valve brace needs to be re-soldered on one end (see pics). Lead Pipe Condition: Medium general wear (visible surface scratches and wear and/or small-medium dents and dings) it has two metal patches. There are two metal patches on the lead pipe (see pics). There are several metal patches on the bell (see pics). The rim of the bell has a crack in it (see pics). Outside Body Bow Condition. Has a medium to heavy dent in the outside bow with other dents and dings. No broken metal that we could see(See Pics). Medium dents and dings and medium. Has a heavy dent in the bow guard with other dents and dings. No broken metal that we saw (See Pics). Several (See Pics) the valve brace needs to be re-soldered on one end (see pics). Overall Height from bow to top of the bell approximately : 40 inches. Bell Diameter approximately : 16 inches. The Mouthpiece: No Mouthpiece is included, or other accessories.
