1947 Conn 6m Alto Saxophone #320XXX, Original Laquer, Lady, Plays Great, Nice
This is a great-playing example of a vintage Conn 6m alto saxophone manufactured in 1947, #320XXX, when Conn was still making their best saxophones. Rolled toneholes and naked lady engraving. His sax has a good set of pads with plenty of life left and it is set up to good playing adjustment, with needed replacements. Normal wear for a sax of it’s vintage with some scratches and a few small dents and wear mainly on the neck and some wear on the touch points as seen in the photos on it’s original laquer finish. Awesome characteristic Conn 6m sound with a nice vintage edge. The item “1947 Conn 6m Alto Saxophone #320XXX, Original Laquer, Lady, Plays Great, Nice” is in sale since Sunday, October 6, 2019. Vintage 1935-1940 Conn Tenor Saxophone 10M Naked Lady
The saxophone is in decent shape for being a storage locker find it has no dents or bends. It has the original mouth piece in it. There is one key that has some rust and sticks. The others are all free. There is some corrosion on it. It needs to be repadded. Some of the lacquer finish is coming off around the bell and in the bend at the bottom I tried to get pictures to show it. Overall it is in repairable shape. The case however is beyond repair the top is falling off and the inside of the lid has some mildew. Included with the saxophone and case, there are some old reeds a old glass bottle that says Conn on it (in the first picture) and the neck strap. RARE Conn 30M Connqueror (deluxe & improved 10M) Naked Lady pro tenor saxophone
Conn 30M Connqueror aka… Artist model, Naked Lady, lady face, etc. The Conn 30M has always been regarded as one of the very best saxophones ever made. The Conn 10M standard saxophone is clearly known to be one of the favorite tenor saxophones. Conn took the deluxe and very rare 30M “Connqueror” series several steps further… With much improved ergonomics (check out the placement of the LH pinky table relative to the upper stack keys), larger/oversized pinky table, improved & faster mechanism, silver-inlaid key touches on every key (and right thumb hook) that doesn’t have a pearl, individual adjustments for each key to allow for set & forget long-term adjustment via the Conn perm-adjust system. Original Conn key pearls and rollers. Fair condition for its nearly 80 years of age, and the unmistakable Conn pinky table keys are in good alignment. It has lacquer pitting/dents/dings – common for this vintage. This one may need some TLC in my opinion… You may want to strip it down, clean it up, perhaps re-engrave, and rebuild it exactly to your specification; alternatively have your sax tech address any issues and just enjoy the patina on this classic beauty like a badge of honor; or something in between – that is completely up to you. It has the original Conn 30M neck; no sign of any pull down; some dings (see photos); the 30M sax has a completely unique & sleek neck design with the special split over/under slung octave lever. Rolled tone holes (RTH) – a unique feature and they are much easier on the key pads. Metal resonated leather pads – I believe these are Conn reso-pads. All keys operate, move freely, and quickly… Just as they should on a Connqueror. This legendary professional saxophone is a rare find. These 30M Connquerors are very hard to find – particularly in this price range. You cannot beat this price for a Conn 30M Connqueror. First come, first served… Don’t miss this super-rare Conn 30M Connqueror Naked Lady! Includes a vintage non-original case that also needs some TLC. It will be packed well with care. For those of you who may not be familiar, Frank is a true heavy hitter in the jazz world and has been featured on multiple Grammy winning albums. He is also the quintessential gear hound, having amassed a collection of over 500 mouthpieces! He now endorses and plays Jody Jazz mouthpieces exclusively so he is purging some of his massive collection of mouthpieces he has acquired over many years, as well as other random gear. Be sure to check out my other items for more great items from this collection. There will be more to come later, so add me to your favorites list and check back later to see new additions. His listing is for a vintage Conn 12M’Naked Lady baritone saxophone. The serial number 351, xxx indicates a c. It is not currently playable. Like most old bari saxophones, this horn has taken its share of knocks in its lifetime. There are no major dents, but there are lots of little dings and pings. It looks like there was dent work done on the bell, and possibly elsewhere as well. The rim of the bell is a bit wavy, and there are small dings on it. The feet of the low Eb key guard are pushed into the body a bit. There are a number or resoldered posts, including one which was done very poorly and needs to be re-soldered correctly. The body looks to have a slight banana bend. The neck has been pulled down and bent back up, resulting in a stress crack on one side, which will need to be patched. It still is a bit bent down, and has some small dings. Surprisingly, the pads on this horn are actually in decent condition. If perfection is not a concern, this horn could probably be put back in decent functional playing condition for a reasonable price. Of course, for optimum playing condition it would require a full overhaul. There is no case or mouthpiece included. Please feel free to message me with any questions! Thanks again for looking! This is a great-playing example of a vintage Conn 6m transitional alto saxophone manufactured in 1932, #351XXX, at the absolute peak of American saxophone craftsmanship and quality. Rolled toneholes and naked lady engraving. His sax has a recent set of metal dome resonator pads and it is set up to good playing adjustment. Normal wear for a sax of it’s vintage with some scratches and a few small dents and wear mainly on the neck and some wear on the touch points as seen in the photos on it’s original silver-plated finish. Poor-looking but solid solder repair on low D# guard as seen in photos 8 and 9, no effect on the great sound quality of this sax. Very free-blowing with lots of edge and vintage character. 1949 Conn 6m Alto Saxophone #333XXX, Original Laquer, Lady, Plays Great
This is a great-playing example of a vintage Conn 6m alto saxophone manufactured in 1949, #333XXX. Rolled toneholes and naked lady engraving. His sax has a good set of plastic dome resonator pads with plenty of life left and it is set up to good playing adjustment, with needed replacements. Normal wear for a sax of it’s vintage with some scratches and a few small dents and wear mainly on the neck and some wear on the touch points as seen in the photos on it’s original laquer finish. Awesome characteristic Conn 6m sound with a nice vintage edge. Please be aware that the toneholes are straight, not rolled as is mistakenly stated in the description. This sax was manufactured immediately after the rolled toneholes were discontinued but it retains the same workmanship and quality. Vintage 1949 Conn 10m Naked Lady Tenor Sax Saxophone With Case Excellent
VINTAGE 1949 CONN 10M NAKED LADY TENOR SAX SAXOPHONE WITH CASE. You are looking at a great classic 1949 Conn horn. It is in really good shape for being 70 years old. A little about my self. This horn speaks with a very rich warm tone in the lower register and doesn’t thin out when playing in the upper register. Put some faster air through it and it growls with the best of them from that era. I played this horn chromatically from the top of it’s register all the way down to bottom low B quite comfortably. Now the condition details to the best of my ability. Has no repairs solder or otherwise. Has a lot of it’s original lacquer but is worn through in the usual areas. There are various scuffs, scratches, and small dings throughout primarily on the lower bout and bell section but nothing too serious (See pictures). Will benefit from a detailed cleaning and you might want to have it adjusted to your liking. Clappers seal well as the pads are still soft and supple including the most notorious one that tends to crack up first above the thumb hook. In saying that, it needs to be mentioned that there are a few of the pads that are split around the outer seems but are not compromising the center of the pad or how they seal. All braces and original solder points are solid. Springs are also working well. The mouthpiece receiver cork is tight and is good condition with some wear. The pip pad is also good and seals well and the spring in the octave key is reliable as well. Most of the the lacquer is worn off of the neck. This horn will come with two great mouthpieces. A rare Penn Los Angeles plastic mouthpiece with no # in excellent condition. No teeth grooves, or chips of any kind. Table is perfect and this comes with a ligature and cap. A red Santy Runyon jazz mouthpiece also with no #. Surface and table are nice but has internal pressure cracks which are pretty common on these. Also comes with a lyre, neck plug, and original neck strap. This appears to be an original Conn case but It doesn’t have the logo anywhere on it. I must say through, that I have seen this model from this year range come with several different cases so I’m really not sure. Cosmetically is has some tears in the tolex and in the end bands but none of the stitching has seperated from the wood. The handles are tight and solid. On thr bottom of the case the wood seems to be seperating a little under the tolex but case still feels solid and strong. Hinges have a bit of light rust as do the latches. All of the hinges and latches are in tact and work and the springs in the latches are still active too. The button on the right latch sticks a little bit but is not frozen. The interior of the case is in good condition as well but the box for the accessories in loose as they only glued it in and did not screw it in through the wood. I think I covered everything. You may need to know and it looks way better in person! I will pack the inside of the case to secure the horn and contents not just bubble wrap the outside of the case.
