It looks rather rough around the edges – however it is among the easiest saxophones that I have ever played – no joke, nor exaggeration. It has spent the entirety of its previous life as a New York City professional performance sax – that to me explains why this particular Mark VI plays so ridiculously amazingly… It has lots of resolders, dents, dings, etc. Common for a legitimate performance sax of this vintage. The original Selmer key pearls and rollers are intact. Thoroughly deep cleaned & overhauled… It is fully sorted and ready to continue gigging and blowing audiences away! All it really needs is a wipe down of the patina – if you like. New leather pads with domed metal resonators (not the typical plastic resonators). Fresh cork and felt touches. Vintage Henri Selmer Paris Largo tenor trombone serial number 8710. This instrument was manufactured in France in the late 1960s. Remarkable condition for its age. The Largo slide bore is. 547 and the bell measures 8 11/16 (220 mm). This instrument plays very well and has a bright tonal quality, somewhat unusual for a symphonic bore instrument. The bell brass is heavier than most, which accounts for its ability to project well. It is a terrific solo instrument or great for a small ensemble. The bell engraving reads: HENRI SELMER/ PARIS/ SELMER/ MADE IN FRANCE. The slide receiver barrel reads Largo and the mouthpiece receiver barrel has the Henri Selmer Paris logo with the serial number. The bell section is in very good condition with minimal signs of damage. There are some scratches and tiny dings on the bell throat and flare. Lacquer is 80+% intact, with wear at the neck tube, tuning slide crook and 1. Lacquer has flaked at the bell flair bead (see pic). There are signs of previous dent work on the tuning slide crook, but its in good shape and moves freely. The handslide has been overhauled: lacquer stripped, dings removed, tubes flex-honed, slide aligned and new felts installed. A slight crease on the slide receiver barrel does not affect handslide operation. The inner slide tubes are in excellent condition and handslide action is 8-9/10. The handslide has been Flitz polished. This gem is clean and ready to howl! Just add slide lube; comes with a custom hardshell case. Its clean and in very good condition. Ive been a player, collector and repair tech for many years, but now find that its become more of a burden than a joy to keep, restore, and maintain so many trombones. Silver and Brass Music Shop is a brick-and-mortar brass instrument restoration and repair shop located in Carson City, NV. This is a Henri Selmer Paris K-Modified trumpet serial number. The bore of the horn is. The bell is 4 5/8″ and has a small bell wreath or “kranz, which gives the horn improved projection and improves responsiveness. This horn is finished in raw brass, and has a satin patina finish. The inside of the bell has been polished to a bright shine. Reads: HENRI/ SELMER/ PARIS/ SELMER/ MADE IN FRANCE/ ®. The leadpipe has K-MODIFIED stamped on the mouthpiece receiver. This horn looks very nice and plays very well. The valves have very good compression and feel very mechanically sound, with no wiggle from side to side. As for the aesthetic condition of the horn, there are a couple of minuscule dings and scuffs on the horn. There are a few areas of light scratching and a small amount of light pitting on the valve cluster from regular playing. There is also a small amount of light pitting and scratching inside the bell flare. All this is visible in the pictures, and none of it affects the playability of the horn. This instrument has been professionally cleaned in our shop and repaired to full playability. This trumpet comes with a mouthpiece in good condition, and a somewhat worn case. For sale is a Henri Selmer K-Modified Lightweight 24B Bb Trumpet in great condition! According to the Horn-u-Copia database, this trumpet was manufactured in 1966. The words “K-Modified Lightweight” are engraved on the lead pipe receiver, and “24B” is also engraved on the bottom of the receiver (see photos 3 and 4). There is also a beautiful engraving on the bell (see photo 2). K-Modified trumpets are amazing sounding, beautiful instruments that play freely, with excellent control. The dynamical range and intonation of these trumpets is excellent! This particular instrument is in truly amazing shape for it’s age. There are a few spots of lacquer wear throughout the trumpet (see photos 9 and 10 for the worst spots), but nothing that is affecting the playability of this instrument in any way. There also is a small dent where the bell tail connects to the valve cluster (see photo 8), which is also not going to affect the playing characteristics. All of the valves work excellently and the plating is good (photo 7). The tuning slides all pull freely (photo 6). The first valve slide has a trigger mechanism to operate the slide, and it works very smoothly with very little resistance. The third valve slide also works extremely well, with very smooth operation. This truly is an amazing trumpet that any professional or student will be able to play for years to come. This trumpet comes with a Vincent Bach 3C mouthpiece and a Protec trumpet case. Both are in great shape, with only a little wear from normal use.
