This old saxophone has been well taken care of but does have some wear. I had it checked out by a saxophone technician. He did tell me that the pads are original and will probably need to be replaced. He played it and to me, it sounded beautiful, but a couple of the notes did not sound perfect. There are NO dents. I’m sure with some TLC It can be brought back to life. The case is in very nice condition. It will be packaged with great care. The item “C. G. I like to remain objective, but the viewer needs to know, this horn is a great player from top to bottom. The slide is very smooth. As both a woodwind player and a brass player of many years, this is a tremendous horn that shows only very minor cosmetic deficiencies. The serial number is, I believe, 4338982 followed by perhaps one more number, but it appears almost more like a degree symbol. It’s a bit worn in this area and it is a bit difficult to read. This is wear the slide nut lock goes and of course, it wears there. It would appear the trigger may have, at one time, had some damage to it that has been, it appears, professionally repaired. Please see that photo. There are some other areas of lacquer wear and corrosion that I tried to capture in photos as well. The case is in good, functional condition. All hinges and latches work. The handles are firm. The item “C. G. Conn 88H LT Trigger Tenor F-Attachment Trombone with Case” is in sale since Monday, February 3, 2020. RARE Conn 30M Connqueror (deluxe & improved 10M) Naked Lady pro tenor saxophone
The rarest of the rare, the best of the best… Conn 30M Connqueror aka… Artist model, Naked Lady, lady face, etc. The Conn 30M has always been regarded as one of the very best saxophones ever made. The Conn 10M (aka standard) saxophone is clearly known to be one of the favorite tenor saxophones of all time. In fact, some players prefer the Conn 10M to any other saxophone to date.. Conn (Charles Gerard Conn & Company) took the deluxe and very rare 30M “Connqueror” series several steps further than the base 10M model… With much improved ergonomics (check out the placement of the LH pinky table relative to the upper stack keys), larger/oversized pinky table, improved & faster mechanism, silver-inlaid key touches on every key that doesn’t have a pearl (and the right thumb hook), individual adjustments for each key to allow for set & forget long-term adjustment via the Conn perm-adjust system. Good condition for its over 80 years of age. There are dings & scratches common for this vintage, and some soldering repair history, but nothing major. It is fitted with a modern ergonomic right thumb rest. It has the original Conn 30M neck; some dings (see photos); the 30M sax has a completely unique & sleek neck design with the special split over/under slung octave lever. Rolled tone holes (RTH) – a unique feature and they are much easier on the key pads. The original Conn pearl rollers are surprisingly all present and intact, although a couple are a bit stiff. The leather pads are in fair condition and have Conn appropriate metal resonators. All keys operate, move freely, and quickly… Just as they should on a Connqueror. It could use a check up and possibly a cleaning of the patina if you like. The engraving is great – both clear & crisp. Plus, this is one of the rarer early horns that is actually engraved with the word CONNQUEROR prominently on the bell – that is a big plus! This legendary professional saxophone is a rare find. First come, first served… Don’t miss this super rare Conn 30M CONNqueror Naked Lady. With the original Conn 30M Connqueror neck included. Vintage saxophones this special don’t come along every day, make an offer.. Includes a non-original Conn case that is in good condition. It will be packed well with care. Silver and Brass Music Shop is a brick-and-mortar brass instrument restoration and repair shop located in Carson City, NV. Here is a 1923 (serial number 204161) Conn 22B “New York Symphony” trumpet. This horn has valve casings made from solid copper, which was only done for a few years during the 1920. The bore of the horn is medium at. 438 (Conn #1 bore). The bell is 4 1/2. Here is what Conn said in their catalogs at the time. When this trumpet was first designed and manufactured it took the trumpet world off its feet. Just let one of these trumpets get into the trumpet section of an orchestra or band and the whole section would adopt it. When soloists played it people marveled at its pure trumpet tone. Through a constant process of refinement, this trumpet today is the most popular in the world. Its only rival is the New World Symphony trumpet. The success of this superb instrument is due to the fact that it filled an urgent need. Previously the foreign trumpet had been chosen by big artists because of its peculiarly fine trumpet tone. However, these foreign trumpets were so faulty in intonation that users wore themselves out trying to “humor” them and “lip” them into tune. Moreover, they were extremely hard to blow. When the New York Symphony trumpet was put on the market, possessing not only a matchless trumpet tone but also perfect intonation and extreme ease of blowing, it is no wonder it became widely heralded practically over night. Only the famous Conn hydraulic expansion process [described and explained on pages 8 and 9], made this fine trumpet possible. Trumpets look pretty much alike on the outside – it’s the inside surface which determines the worth of an instrument. Tone waves are very delicate and become distorted and choked whenever the inside surface of the trumpet is wrinkled or wavy, as was true in the foreign trumpets and is true today in inferior makes. The hydraulic expansion process insures a glassy-smooth inside surface, the perfect surface for carrying tone waves. Only Conn trumpets are made by this process and only Conn’s possess the perfect inside surface for carrying the tone waves. Made in a small bore, the New York Symphony trumpet has a very bright, crystal pure tone. It is brilliant without being “squealy” or “squeaky”; it has great penetrating power without being blatant; it will play pianissimo without faltering or losing its trumpet color; it will play fortissimo without cracking or becoming harsh; it responds with the slightest breath and can be played vigorously all evening without exhaustion. The unparalleled favorite in theater orchestras, dance orchestras, the smaller symphonies and concert bands, and for solo playing. This horn looks beautiful and plays very well. The valves have good compression and the slides all move of course. As for the aesthetic condition of the horn, t. Here are a few small dings and pings as well as some areas of light pitting and light scratching. There are a few small reinforcing patches on the knuckles of the horn – on the second valve knuckles, and the knuckle where the main tuning slide enters the third valve. There is also one small solder repair on the leadpipe. The bell engraving reads: MADE BY/ C. All this is visible in the pictures, and none of it affects the playability of the horn. This instrument has been professionally cleaned in our shop and repaired to full playability. His horn is not lacquered; therefore fingerprints should be wiped off after use if the player wishes for the horn to stay as shiny as it is now–if they are not wiped off then the horn will develop a lovely patina. This trumpet comes with a somewhat worn case and a mouthpiece in good condition. All horns are located at Silver & Brass Music Shop. Conn 88H Artist Symphony Trigger Trombone. This will make a nice playing trombone for a comeback player or advancing student who isn’t concerned with looks and cosmetic blemishes. The trombone is not pretty. There is very little lacquer left. There are dents, the worse is in the crook of the tuning slides (see last photo). There are solder marks and scaring from past dent removal. There is a small crack in the inner slide which can be viewed in photo 11. The slide has a nice feel and is smooth without catches. The trigger is also smooth and highly functional. The red brass bell produces a full open lyrically sound. Included is a newer Schilke 51D large shank mouthpiece. The case is original but is in very bad condition. It will hold the trombone but is not a case for long term use. 1961 Conn Elkhart 10H Trombone. Sometimes with old professional trombones it’s how they play not how it looks. This is the case with this 10H. It is a great player! Free blowing and open with a nice warm response at piano. You can also peel paint if you want with a clear tone at FFF. It has lacquer wear and scratches in spots. The bell is excellent with no dents, creases or evidence of repair. The slide is smooth and fast but has wear on the inner slides in small spots which is pictured. They do not effect the slide action. Please look at my other auctions and message me with pertinent questions. The item “1961 Conn Elkhart 10H Trombone” is in sale since Saturday, November 30, 2019.
