Vintage 1930’s Ludwig ” Vintage ” Nickel over Brass 15″ diameter x 5″ deep Snare Drum , 8 Lug , Clip Mount , Tube nickel plated lugs , All Original Drum. Not only do I believe , they Are to be along with nickel plating on hoops too , it seems to be shell plated the same as the other plating which looks like nickel to me and which is nickel , it has catgut snares wires also snare throw of is in excellent working condition. The snare Gut Wires are tight and no discrepancies there. The Case is a vintage Leedy Case , unlined with a strap I added to secure the case closed. The original leather strap has deteriorated. Please look at pictures for the fore mentioned. I have thoroughly cleaned and polished every part of this drum , all lugs individually cleaned and polished , all tuning screws cleaned & polished , threads graphite , one extra year correct tube lug included [as extra part]. This is a 2 piece shell , Not only do I believe , it IS seemed at the middle of the shell just like the black beauty, Look at the inside shell picture you will see. No additional holes , it has some minor scratching that is difficult to see from close , although there is 2 small dents as seen in the pictures , one small round dent is below the Ludwig script to the bottom left next to where the tube lug bolts to the shell , the other small round dent is above to where the catgut wires are attached to the drum opposite side of strainer. If you need additional pictures contact me I was told by a fellow drummer that this was a 1927 special order drum , do your research.. After thoroughly polishing this drum and putting it back together , I further tuned it up and played on it a little , WHAT AN INCREDIBLE SOUND , FAT SOUNDING , EVEN WITH THESE CATGUT SNARES , DIFFERENT SOUNDING VOICE OF THIS BELL BRASS SNARE DRUM , MAN OH MAN , IT SOUNDS SO COOL , THIS SNARE DRUM COMMANDS ATTENTION!
