Near mint condition Selmer MarkVI baritone sax serial number M287xxx. There is no engraving except for the Selmer Paris logo. I talked to the head repairman but do not remember his name. He told me that Selmer never made Mk7 baritone saxes and that it was a genuine Mk6 made in 1978 or 1979 and was made during the current production of Mk7’s so therefore it had no engraving since Mk7 alto’s and tenor’s were not engraved. It now comes in a ProTec “coffin” case. I have played this off and on for the last 30 years as an amateur and have kept it in mint condition. I recently played this Nov. 6, 2018, in an orchestra concert. The pads all seal perfectly down to low A. The neck receiver does not tighten completely on the neck with the screw turned in all the way so the neck will rotate and it has been this way since I got it. I have been advised to leave it this way as either expanding the bottom of the neck tenon or shrinking the neck receiver may alter the response and since the response of this bari is fantastic I have opted to leave the neck loose. It does not swing freely but will rotate. The original lacquer is perfect except for the side Bb pad cup. The top edge of the pad cup and a small part of the hinge tube above it has had the lacquer erode as shown in one picture. This is the only evidence of finish wear and there are no other erosion spots anywhere else on the entire horn. This pad cup and hinge tube can easily be removed and relacquered and then the horn would have a perfect finish other than the minor scratches. Only one very small ding on the entire body as shown. The only significant scratch is on the front side running horizontal and is between the low Bb and A pad which can also be seen in the photos. I have regularly wiped this down using a silicone gun cloth to neutralize fingerprints and body salts. This bari sax has never been worked on for anything, it has all original maybe 98% finish and has all original, excellent condition, pads. There are some rub marks, not actual scratches, on the left side of the body/bell where it has rubbed against my leg during playing which are also shown in the photos. I use a BG shoulder harness when I play this and rarely use a sax stand as I did not want to scratch the bell. I carefully swab the sax after every playing by drawing a clarinet swab through the neck and using a Hodge Bari Sax Silk Snake Swab in the upper crook or neck. A mouthpiece is not included. Any damage to this will greatly reduce the collector value. You will have to make arrangements to personally pick this up and then assume full responsibility. It arrived damaged with some of the large tubing being accordioned, indicating it had been dropped. The balance will be payable at your bank in person. Vintage Keilwerth Straight Alto Sax (Toneking Special) Condition is Used. In good playing condition, but some of the pads should be renewed. Comes with case, as pictured. It’s an absolutely special and lovely horn, very responsive, and by the way, it looks totally unique. Unlike the old King Saxellos it has modern keywork. Easy in the hands, and easy to maintain. I haven’t played it for a while, so some of the pads are a bit the pads were sitting there for a long time. It plays perfectly, but its probably a good idea to overhaul the horn and adjust it to your own liking. I took off the lacquer of the body to make it more responsive and increase its personality. I don’t know how many of these saxophones were produced by Keilwerth, but I have never seen another one. The serial number suggests it was made in the late 1970’s or early 1980’s. I bought it in the late 1990s. I do hope the person who buys it will cherish it as much as I did. This really is a one-time chance for a great and absolutely unique horn. Used tuba in F with 4 rotary valves. The instrument is inused condition, and needs some care. There are bents at the bell and 2 soldery places at the braces are lose. (please make sure you see all pictures). The slides are moveable and “Plopping”. The valves are moving easy and fast. The bell reads “Amati Kraslice” Size of the horn is approx. This is a great example of a vintage Buescher Aristocrat tenor saxophone, #300317, made in 1942 at the peak period of great saxophones. This sax has normal wear and some wear on it’s original laquer finish. The engraving is great and has a beutiful full dark tone. Has the original snap on caps and a new cork on the neck. Plays great top to bottom but needs tunning , minor leak check and a set up to your taste. Has the original golden norton springs but one which is shown in the pictures on the right of the serial number. The post of the C key on the bowl appears to have been re-soldered, but the work was done right and left only a discoloration in the lacquer. Sax is in a very nice condition to its age. Players may want to have the sax personally set up to their taste by their own technician, so buyers will need to figure that expense into the price. 1938 Selmer Balanced Action Tenor Saxophone – Artist Owned -Benny Goodman’s Band. Selmer Paris released the Balanced Action officially in 1935. It was another leap forward for Selmer, and sort of a response to the great American-made saxes that were so popular in the 20’s and 30’s. It has a bigger bore throughout, giving you some added volume with less effort. It also was the first Selmer horn to put the bell keys together on right side of the bell, a style since copied by pretty much all modern horns. A model played by many Jazz artists of the time including Stan Getz. Serial Number 26xxx puts it in the year of 1938, more than 80 years old piece of Selmer historyThe instrument was bought in an estate sale! A prime example of a Selmer Balanced Action Tenor in a great condition played in Benny Goodman’s Band by CHESTER CHET’ BENN. It has that glorious “round” sound which made BA Tenor an instant hit among saxophonists at that time playing melodies & lyrical notes. Nothing can actually beat sound of a full volume Balanced Action Tenor, arguably second to Conn 10M. It is a case of Factory relacquer, you can see that crisp engraving pattern of floral themes & Mountain with House & trees, verifying it to be well done job with proper baking as it was done in those early years. It seems that after getting relacquered from the Selmer USA factory, it was not played again until recent years. Experts can tell you that some relacquer are dead sounding but this one is vibrant and you can actually feel the resonance of notes in your hands. Also look at the natural patina, which is beautiful. No major resolders or any dents. Original Neck is Solid & round. The action is extremely light and fluid. The feeling is beautiful and helps you execute faster lines much better than any other saxophone or the market. Pads are in real good shape and have years of life in them. Comes in its Original Black Case, Original Wood Cap, Vintage Reed Box, Saxophone Pad Saver, Pack of Pads w/ Metal Resonators that were previously installed. It is getting increasingly difficult to find Balanced Action TENORS in such a good condition with solid body, old factory relacquer, crisp engraving and that elusive FAT & ROUND Tone. Your search may end with this one. It sounds as good as an original lacquer one and Ive played a few in person to confirm that.
