This is a rare fine-playing example of a Selmer Super alto saxophone #183XX manufactured in Paris, France in 1933. Pads are older but flexible, with necessary replacements and t. His sax is set up to good playing adjustment. Moderate wear and scratching on it’s worn vintage laquer finish. Radio Improved octave mechanism although this sax is indicated as a “Cigar Cutter” by it’s serial number. Likely because this was a transitional period between models, some new features were included in some examples such as this one. This sax has exceptional projection and a fine consistent vintage edge.
